Rachel Russell

Hello! My name is Rachel Russell and I will be your child’s third grade science teacher this year. I taught early childhood for 7 years, so this is my very first year teaching elementary.

I was born and raised in Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. I then recently just graduated in May 2023 from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Master’s of Science in Elementary Education.

In my free time, I enjoy going to movies, going to eat, reading, and being with friends and family. I look forward to teaching your child this year and getting to know them.

My philosophy in education is very simple: have fun and let them know that they are safe and loved. Yes, I do have expectations for my classroom, but I also like to have fun with them as well. I like to allow my students to have "Wiggle Breaks" because I know it's hard for children at their age to sit still, which I even have a hard time doing. I like to let my students know from Day 1 that I already care about them and love them. I know this is going to be a great year and look forward to spending it with your students.
